doesn't appear to be working 100% with the latest Tiger dev releases. Strange, sometimes it works sometimes it fails to load up and gives a low level error warning before quitting..

Make this shareware IF development is still going on. Or is this now dead?? No updates for a long while!!! :-(

Thank you.

since my last comment about this software, I have since switched to an easier to use program Throttled Pro that doesn't require any changes after it is setup, it just limits all outgoing traffic to the level you set (for the most basic setup) or if you register you get the more advanced settings you may want.

set this up under 10.3.5, works no problem.

as it mentions in the FAQ on the website for CarraFix, setting it up for FTP or other internet systems that use random port numbers can be tricky. there is a hint on www.macosxhints.com that explains how to find which port is in use to limit it.

i have bit torrent on mac osx. i have g4 powerbook and i dont get full dl speed. i have broad band upgrade from 512kbs to 2mbs. is there anything i i can use or any programs to increase my dl speed. my upload is higher than dl.

1 question upload is where other people are sharing my dl right.

DON'T USE THIS WITH BITTORRENT!
IT ONLY KILLS YOUR DOWNLOAD RATE!
ALL MAC CLIENTS CAN TROTTLE THE UPLOAD SPEED. (even the official client, just click on the "minus" on the top left of the window)

Very hard to tell if uploads are capped if you minimise the bittorrent window :P

Without Carrafix I'm at 30KiB/s straight and surfing sucks. With Carrafix I'm at 22 - 25 ish,, and can surf a bit......

Woops.
That was actually the best tip ever!

Not top left though, people. top right....

Works like a charm.

Thanks dude////

It seems like you're only able to cap each file separately in BitTorrent, which isn't useful if you seed more than one file.

Wow, that WAS a great tip. This is all I needed -- Azarus kept crashing, and Tomato kinda sucks. Fan'freakin'tastic. Faboo.

i can't seem to get this too work under OS 10.3.3 properly. I seem to be limited to about 14k rather than 28 !

Anyone help - is there a fix in the works??

Well, this thing has done so much for me back in the days of Jaguar etc. But now with Panther, I don't get it to work at all. It hangs everytime I start it. The usual 'plist deletion' etc. didn't help.

Using Carrafix on the transfers port of a KDX Server and everything works a charm! This app is better than using the 'total outgoing speed limit' within KDX Server Settings. Upstream speeds are faster and more consistant, plus my download speeds are just as fast as if i wasn't running a server! Awesome app this - thank you!!!! Carrafix should be shareware! lol

Installs and runs on Panther but doesnt seem to be doing its thing. I entered all the ports individually for bitTorrent (6881-6888) and still have uploads of 25k making my downloads stall. I set the upload speed limit to like 10 k but it still lets uploads of 25k+ go on.. barg :(

OK, but doesn't support BitTorrent by default, and doesn't support port-ranges (ie. 6880-6889), so you have to enter a whole bunch of individual enteries for each port. Seems simple to fix...
