Radio UserLand is an easy-to-use Weblog tool that runs on your desktop, so it's fast, and ready to go when you are. It automatically builds your site, organizes and archives your posts, and publishes your content -- without any knowledge of HTML, FTP, or graphic design. All you need to do is install Radio and begin publishing, in minutes, not days. You can publish written text, links, photos, documents, and much more with just a single click of your mouse. Best of all, you can do all of this in your favorite browser.
Radio is an evoloution from Frontier into a blogging tool, but at its roots it is still Frontier. It is an incredible tool. It is a language of its own, an outliner, a blogging tool, and much more.
I think the general use as a blogging tool is very easy if the user understands that he/she has the entire source of their blog located on their local machine. When you create, you create on your machine. When you publish that creation, it does take a little time for all the parts to be moved onto the server that is hosting your weblog. That little time lag can confuse some people.
If you are working on a different machine, you do not have the ease of access to control your blog. Actually you almost do, you just have to jump through a hoop or two in the preferences.
Mostly RadioUserland is a 900 pound hammer that some people try to use as a vanilla milk shake. Some people can get quite lost in the complexities of RadioUserland, but some people can create a symphony with all the tools included in this mature cross platform scripting language.
Yup. Bought nine months ago, mainly because I am still using the MORE outliner and hoped Radio would work out as well; haven't been able to use it yet. And once I quit trying, the Pismo seemed more stable. Though I can say that equally well of a LOT of applications (sigh).
It's probably OSX that's the problem; I admit I continue hovering and checking in, waiting for the month when I will have seen a string of happy users of OSX and Radio showing up with interesting pages.
Movable Type, eh? Guess I'll go try that one. But I bet they don't promise an outliner that works like More.....

As a user of 8.0.8 I can tell you that there have been numerous issues with Mac OS X, and Userland has been slow to respond to user complaints. Considering this is commercial software, support is limited to the discussion groups on their site which is pretty lame. Users helping users is the way this works, so be sure this is the path you wish to walk before you pay. I'd recommend Moveable Type which is much more dynamic and does not run locally which is a source of pain for Radio users on Macs.
