What's New
Version 2.4: Release notes were unavailable when this listing was updated.
SweetMail still works fine with POP. A trick I have used is to map MailServe to my various accounts and create a one-stop mail clearing house. SweetMail can talk directly to a local storage point on your machine. Works great!
Wow, SweetMail looks like a blast from the OS 9 past. It hasn't been updated in years and doesn't have the functionality (STARTTLS for one) to work with gmail. It would be nice to see a Cocoa version someday, as it is I cannot do a thing with it.
Just to bring this up front from the replies in my previous post:

Are you serious? Or is this a cruel joke? I would be SO HAPPY if you really are doing this!! :D I would use it over Apple Mail and GyazMail (as well as Thunderbird) any day!

I'm writing codes to convert endian between PowerPC and Intel. It's may be not so difficult. I know how to make it. But, Plz wait some months with your patience. because I'm sunday developer have a few minutes to write.

Still works a treat in Leopard. Love the fact that it DOESN'T do html mail - a double-click sends the html to my offline browser, where I can read the text, inspect the source code and, if necessary (rarely), reload it in online mode.
Maybe it's time for me to drop it, but I don't see any reason why I should.
What a shame. I emailed the author a year ago asking if he would release sources, no response. This is a great application (well, for those who like this sort of design). Still works on 10.4.11, btw. I wonder if it will work on Leopard?
Anyway, if anyone knows the developer, see if he is willing to release the sources into open source or something.

best,
You know, once you get it working well on Intel, this is one of those programs that if you continue developing you could charge money for. I certainly find it an appealing alternative to things like Mail, Thunderbird and GyazMail.
Could use IMAP support added, and better integration with spam filters... but other than that it is really an excellent app!

Still running sweetly on OS 10.3.6. App no longer being updated I believe. Only thing it doesn't do is html but that's fine with me. I set it to launch an offline browser so I don't give "come -ons" to spammers (not that I get any).
Pity this thing is freeware, which means: it's not going anywhere in terms of development.

The GUI hasn't changed but it's still very very fast!
