X Font Info is a simple font utility for Mac OS X. It displays the content of any Mac OS X Font file.
Drag any font onto XfontInfo to view its typeface without having to install/activate that font. Free. Easy. Fast. Great. Period. Unfortunately for PPC only. Please update, dear dev. *****
it's exactly what i needed. i burnt my font collection before a clean install of panther, and i didn't want to load *all* of them, so x font info was perfect for the job of culling the junk i won't use.
quick. easy. free.
i had no problems running this in panther (10.3.3), and while it won't open all fonts, i presume this is because they are corrupt to begin with. it will also open multiple fonts, beeping out the ones it can't open. i have nothing but praise for this app!
It does what it says: displays a font via dragndrop, no matter what sort. Should be developed further!
The perfect equivalent to the double-click system-included font preview under MacOS 9 for ANY font under MacOSX. But with the precious additional feature of adjustable font-size. Also you can paste any text, which will be displayed in the chosen font. Extremely Simple, but cool - exactly what I was searching for! And even freeware!
It can't work with any font I try to open with this App (other Mac apps do). When a folder is dropped on the App icon, it "alert-beeps" even before the GUI has switched to the app. The readme says that it can work on a folder at once, yet selecting a folder in the open dialog is impossible. Selecting several items at once is impossible too.
Are you sure you're using OSX? :p
XfontInfo works great.
drag n drop font for preview. very nice and easy app. big up!
