Activity & Expense Tracker Plus includes an electronic timesheet and Time Management Tool that helps you to keep track of all your projects and their related tasks and expenses. You can generate invoices and reports which can be printed or exported to your word processor or spreadsheet program. Also included is a Contact Tracker (with a form letter generator), an Invoice Tracker, a Password Tracker and the Universal Calculator.

This tool appears to be a minimal effort port of a typical Windows shareware to the Mac. Some of the buttons are not even Aqua, the menu is basically not used at all, no WYSIWYG functionality for invoices, a very clutty and ugly interface etc etc.

You might want to take a look at iWork which is truly OS X look and feel and has an intuitive and clutter free user interface. iWork is very suitable for freelancers and alike - and it's more affordable, too.

I have been using the software for a long time now. To address the previous review, I agree that the interface could be improved upon. However, I don't find the program to be overly complex, and to me it doesn't seem to be complex at all. Also, while the installer does not choose the Applications folder by default, that's easily fixed with a couple of clicks of the mouse.
After trying many different programs -Shareware, Freeware, and Commercial- that supposedly do the same, I chose A&E Tracker Plus. From time to time I have tried updated versions of the other programs, and always come back to this one. I would like a better interface, and I'm spoiled by using Daylite which is an amazing program, but in terms of functionality A&E Tracker Plus does exactly what I need a program to do, and the author has provided excellent support on the rare occasion when I've had any minor problems with the software.

The interface is very cluttered with too many buttons that are improperly sized. Might do the job, but the program seems overly complex. Author should probably read Apple's Human Interface Guidelines. The program also installs itself on the root level of the drive rather then the Applications folder.
