MACAST (formerly MacAmp) is an MPEG audio decoder. It works with both MPEG1 and MPEG2 audio streams (except for the multichannel extensions defined in MPEG2), layer3 only for now.

What's New

Version 1.0.1 corrects numerous problems with streaming media. MACAST 1.0.1 is now compatible with servers using HTTP redirects such as live365.com, SHOUTcast, mp3.com and others. In addition, MACAST registration process no longer requires an active Internet connection.

Does this even exist anymore?

This doesn't exist on the web anymore because the company is out of business! but, the Lite version is now freeware for OS X if u want it.

If I can ever get my old mac to work again, I will post MacAST 1.0 (1.0.1 only played 30 second clips) on the web for download! but for now, I will contact the current owners of MacAST Lite to see if they have a copy! thanks!

I bought one of these players in February, and all of a sudden, it won't play, work, nothing. I have no idea what's going on, but just out of the blue, it quit. I've tried everything, re-registering (I just hope I'm not charged for it again), re-installing my original download, you name it. I'm just a little pissed off.
