Fixes a problem in Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) with tracking computer activity
I just purchased Time Cache. Right off the bat I was impressed with the flexibility and depth of information reporting as well as the ability to customize data for each client. I felt that I quickly was able to get clients set up and enter a backlog of data. Being a designer, I am particular about the appearance of my invoices. I contacted customer service via email because I wasn't sure I could customize invoices in a way that I hoped. Within a matter of hours I was contacted by support and was really amazed at the level of assistance I received. I truly felt that they cared about my needs, want me to be happy using Time Cache, and take pride in putting out a top-notch software program. And it was clear they are already working on a new and improved version for the future. I have had my fair share of purchasing products on the internet and then feeling like I had been left out to dry. That has never been farther from the truth with my personal experience with Time Cache. I think I have finally found a time tracking program that will produce great looking invoices and make invoicing easier for me.
I'm an architect, and TimeCache includes categories, which translate into architectural project phases, drafting, travel, etc. I bring TimeCache data into AccountEdge, my accounting software, which has corresponding categories. Works great. TimeCache is flexible, stable, creates great reports and invoices, and the developer, Dennis Birch, is the best I've ever encountered for responding to inquiries.
I absolutely depend on this application for invoicing, profit analysis and creating proposal estimates. Highly recommended.
TimeCache (version 8.08) is a fully featured time management and billing program for Mac that contains many of the features of more pricey programs like TimeSlips for Windows. Customizable forms, easily linked export functions, and clean, crisp interfaces with logical workflow. Customer service from Dennis Birth is excellent.
Our company is small but growing fast, and outgrew our Excel timesheets. We are now using Pacific Timesheet On-Demand (http://www.pacifictimesheet.com) for the last few months and it has really streamlined time tracking, time report and billing. We added payroll integration last month to integrate with our Lawson system, and have seen near 100% adoption across the company. We also started to integrate their time clock, iPhone and Phone in time features, lots of useful features yet very easy to use.
I have used this product for two years and have been happy with it. The good news is that when I have a problem and ask for help, I get help from a real person and not an auto reply telling me to read a document. In fact, I received a call and was walked through a solution after an inquiry. That response and well intended assistance motivated me to write this review and a thank you for helping me. The price is right, the product works and the support is the best ever.
We evaluated that product but went with Pacific Timesheet instead (http://www.pacifictimesheet.com). We needed payroll (Lawson) and iPhone support, and wanted a web-based software solution. We then discovered that they support phone time record, and time clock. I highly recommend them!
TimeCache 6.1 is a simple, easy to use time tracker and invoicer. I now can have multiple billing rates and have been able to capture time I otherwise would have lost. For years [as an architect] I avoided time billing jobs due to the hassle of tracking. It is a distinct improvement to a conventional time sheet since multiple projects with multiple clients, job numbers and the like can be managed while you work. This is by far the simplest and most elegant application I have used in my 30 years as an architect. I expect it to pay for itself 100 times over in the next year.
Hopefully my estimate of the product will improve after using it for a while but my initial response is poor due to installation issues and two crashes within the first hour of use.
I don't find the help to be particularly well written or clear, although minimally adequate.

We have been using ClickTime for a few years, and we've been very happy with it. It's web-based, so there is no software to install and maintain. Highly recommended for any organization that wants to keep track of how time is spent.

I've been using Timecache since the middle of 2003 and I have to say that it is the best tool I have ever been able to find to assist with timekeeping with my Graphic Design business. My small 2 person shop owns 2 copies and creating reports and entering time is convenient and easy. The developers are great too and quick to respond to questions. The best there is, especially for the price.
