BareBones historically has a high opinion of themselves. They charge what they can get away with and don't really care if others think it's to much. I held my nose and paid $130 for BBEdit. Mailsmith was a "meh" until they finally killed it. Don't think they've updated this app to do ACLs either
My own follow-up here, with current status, prompted by comment from Michael V, just FYI.
I checked on BBS web page and they now list Super Get Info as officially, um, dead.
The product (v1.3.1) will still work on older Mac OS X versions. It's docs state:
"requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later, and is fully compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 and later. Universal Binary."
But no official word on what the last/latest supported OS version was.
"As of August 18, 2009, Super Get Info has been discontinued.
If you are a current Super Get Info customer and need a copy of the last available version, you can download it here.
Release Date: 12/19/2007"
Works as advertised. Not sure about $20 though. YMMV.

Version1.2.1
Get the TRUTH about your Mac OS X files.
Requires Mac OS X 10.2 or higher (10.3.5 or later recommended).
List Price: $ 20.
Super Get Info is a much improved version of the Finder Get Info command. Two features make Super Get Info stand out, the ability to view hidden files and change Type and Creator codes. Without resorting to the Terminal you can find and make visible hidden files on your machine or make files invisible to hide them from the casual user. The Type and Creator codes are used less is OS X, but the drag and drop interface of Super Get Info makes it a breeze to change the codes using favorites or finding a document with the correct codes and simply dropping the icon onto Super Get Info's window. It is just as easy to create favorite codes that can be selected from a pop-up menu.
If you ever wondered exactly what files are on your computer, or want a much improved Get Info interface, Super Get Info is the program for you.

The only soft I know that can change permissions when a code 1 error prevents it. Much more efficient than "Maintain" which fails in this case (and in many others too).

Super Get Info does warn you in the READ ME that you should be careful when changing permissions and that you should fully understand the issues involved. Unfortunately some folks still don't bother to read the manual.

I tried this out when it was a 1.0 product and it was clearly not worth $20 then and I can hardly see how it could be worth it now. However, for those who are too lazy to search out the freeware alternatives, it does the job.
If it were reduced to less than $10, it would be acceptably priced, but now it's for the dumb and rich.

While I am not sure about the 'dumb' part, I definitely think that $20 is a bit much for a app that seems little more than Find Info on steroids.

But $20 for a one-trick product that only gets updated once every 15 to 18 months is Too Much $.
In my opinion.
Please, Lower the price. You will find many more buyers.
(Last app update was 6-2006, before that 3-2005.)
