CVE-2006-2082: directory traversal / information leak in Quake III Arena auto download feature.

Ludwig Nussel and Thilo Shulz discovered a vulnerability letting a malicious client download files from a server if auto download is enabled ( sv_allowDownload 1 ).

Issue #2 ( CVE pending ): R_RemapShaders buffer overflow

A second issue fixed in this release would let a malicious server exploit a buffer overflow to execute a shellcode on connecting clients.

this program is just like the online game called "QuakeLive" but that online game is free and update itself. online battle with other around the world. total fun their recommend you check it out. just search it.

Is a PPC & Intel Version ?
Why My Quake 1.32 G4 test2 let me play excessiveplus MOD and this not ??
Am I more dangerously exposed with 1.32 G4 test2 version ?
Is exist 1.32c G4/G5 ?

this app is no real universal app like the other on this side. the newest update 1.3.2c exists only for ppc. very bad work!!!

Why don't people try out icculus.org/quake3...

Squnk guy you should join that development as Ryan and those guys are awesome...

Postal 2 and Unreal Tournments are available for MacOS X because of icculus.org...

Please note that this is NOT an official release from id software. It is from a third party group working from the GPLed source code. It contains audio bugs which are not in the official Mac client and it does not contain PunkBuster support. It really shouldn't be listed as a replacement for id's Quake 3. Also, performance on my Dual 2.5 G5 is horrible.

Okay, I'm looking for the OSX version. When I try to install this version it tries to launch Classic. What gives? Is there not a Q3Arena for OSX?

Great port, still works in Tiger.

Especially the load times are a LOT faster under OS X.

One problem though; it installs a separate Quake 3 folder and intends to get the "pak0.pk3" file from somewhere else. This fails, resulting in crashes at launch, or even the inability to launch the game at all.

The remedy is simple: copy the "pak0.pk3" file from the CD or the original Quake 3 folder to the OS X Quake 3 baseq3 folder and trash the preferences file in ~/Library/Preferences if it exists. After that the game runs flawless and fast.
