Apple Mail Import Script is a bundle of scripts to help you import your email messages from your current email program into the MacOS X Mail program. It supports importing of email from Netscape Communicator 4.x, Eudora 5.x,
Outlook Express 5.x, Microsoft Entourage, and Claris Emailer 2.x.
The script did the same to me as it did to others writing here. It starts up fine, open Entourage, asks me which mailboxes to import, whether to include attachments, and then promptly reports there is an item with the same name and shuts down. Any help forthcoming on this?

I had the same problem as Dori--I tried to import mail from Netscape and got the same error message. Frustrating, since I was hoping to import my mailboxes and use my archived mail!

This program is an applescript that will import your e-mail from Eudora or Outlook Express into the default MacOS X Mail program.
For my import (Outlook Express), the import was very slow and kept crashing. Slowness is not really an issue since the import needs to be done only once, and crash was easily solved by examining the very long filenames used. I e-mailed the author and he addressed the problem immediately.
The version I used also handled attachments very efficiently, though it did nothing with importing the address book into Address Book/LDAP, nor importing my POP settings or mail filters. None of that really cared about.
In my opinion this is an essential script for migrating to the default Mail application on OS X. Mail is a pretty powerful program though it could have had improved file management and Eudora like mail filters.
