nice app, quick and stable and fun to use. reminds me of the early iTunes interface (before it went nuts)
expo is able to work with a huge variety of files (images, documents, movies, audio, fonts...) tagging is well done! very well.
auto font activation works even better than in font agent pro from the same developer as far as I have tested (FA 6.5)
i transferred my entire image library from adobe bridge (where most of my tags got lost!!!) to expo which was bit of work but worked out fine. In addition I threw in some documents which I use on a regular basis or which are of important and have been stored in dozens of different folders across my mac. neat to have them in one place where they can be found easily.
this app is young and some some very simple features are missing. I would like to see in the next update:
- nested folders
to my surprise it is not possible to create folders within other folders which leads to a very crowded sidebar
- renaming folders and files by clicking!
it isn´t possible to click the named change it (finder-like); it only works via rightclick/rename which I find annoying
- color labels and ratings for folders
currently only files can be priorized with labels and ratings
- quick look feature to enlarge thumbnail view
it´s not possible to enlarge an image on the fly by clicking the space bar.
- simple image editing (rotate, crop...)
the price is really high. too high for my taste. 200$ means 4x affinity designer! I would have never ever purchased it for that price (purchased it with a discount) and assume that the user base will remain small if they don´t change their price policy. hopefully upgrades will be less pricy...
