Online overview
Online is a minimalist app that lets users know whether or not the system is connected to the Internet. It puts a green dot on the menu bar while connected to the Internet, and which turns red when disconnected. There are so many times that we face program failures due to network interruption and we begin to wonder if the Internet is working or not. On occasions such as this, Online will indicate your online status in an instant. Users will be able to diagnose the issue immediately if it caused by Internet.

Version: 2.0.1
Version 2.0.1 does not work. Still goes on and off several times a minute. Also, the sound does not alert when an outage appears. I quit the app and restarted it, same problems. Even went on the App Store app to complain. When I tried sending the complaint, it wouldn't transmit.

Version: 1.4.1
Version 1.4.1 does not work. It flashes green and yellow yet I have all internet services and mail. right now It's of no use. Developer hasn't responded to my email about this.

I have nothing technically against this. But it does use CPU cycles and valuable menu bar space. Instead I use a menu weather program, or Connection Doctor in Apple Mail for this. I have a number of email address with different servers. If they are all down I know I have a disconnect. Mail retrieval errors is also a good sign of this. You can also bookmark you Modem or Gateway status URL and directly check the connection status. Aside from that most Modems/Gateways have status lights right on the device. I should know. I use AT&T U-Verse and it goes down far more frequently that they would like to admit or advertise.
