iScreensaver Designer is a cross-platform screensaver editing toolkit that builds screensavers for both Mac OS X and Windows XP thru 7, using Images, QuickTime files, MPEG and H.264 Movies, as well as Adobe Flash (SWF) files. It includes a powerful OpenGL animation engine, and a built-in single-file installer. A free trial version with no time limit is available for download.

iScreensaver Designer 4.4.4 is a minor bug-fixing update. We encourage authors to update their software and their built screensavers if they are encountering any of the issues described below:

Editor:

Fixes several bugs in the styled text editor when editing more than one item at a time. Added code to protect against a crash with third party haxies such as RightZoom. Fixes so the Help menu no longer opens the browser window twice.

Screensavers:

The screensaver and screensaver options panel will now show up in the Dock and App Switcher using the customized name set by the author.
Windows: Better error trapping for registry permission issues.

Works perfect but I really cannot recommend this at such a high price tag.

Bought this app several years ago. They've released regular updates when OS or QT updates break functionality. Overall it works well. At first I thought it was really expensive but it's been years since I had to pay for it as the updates have been free.

Overall I think it works well for creating cross platform screensavers.

and when i try to QUIT...
i need force quit !!

I paid for this app a while back. It sucks. Money down the drain. Draconian licensing, Stupid a$$ messages all over the screensavers. A total waste. Never published one screensaver with it.

Good app. and very easy to use... but must be improved.
Otherwise the icon and image quality of the app. itself are very poor and look cheap (I mean the icons that are used inside the user interface, and the default icon that appear onto the installers), the icon in the dock is ok.
I am very annoyed about the unlucky licencing arrangement and awful warnings and alerts on installation of screensavers... this yellow text advice is looking vulgar. A screen saver is supposed to be an elegant dress for our display not a terrific thing even if the company choose to do it shareware...)
And I do not understand why the name of the user licence must appear by default if someone who have paid for the licence do not want it... I mean it is not exactly an elegant way to proceed.

Basic app. very slow. Limited instructions, does not mention to limit file size of photos. Don't understand the pricing structure. Could become more useful with a little tweaking here and there, mainly on the price. i.e., would be nice to actually resize artwork in the program itself.
Did not test to give accurate stability so I gave a 4 for that since i did finish my project witout incedent.

iScreensaver ....

can be summed up in one word....REALBASIC.
Not a pretty word but sexy if you like clunky software that works more or less.

The owners are awful proud of their software as reflected in the hienous prices they charge for it. The only way I can honestly reccomend the premium version is if you are on the crack pipe and need to diversify your habit.

A great little app...but WAY overpriced. I don't know what this company is thinking, but they need to serously reevaluate how much they're charging for each version. Anyone who buys the full version is either extraordinarily stupid or has more money than Bill Gates.

With all due respect, this is utter crapware. Purchased the non-profit version awhile back. Stupid licencing arrangement and ridiculous warnings and alerts on installation of screensavers -- nothing like harrassing and scaring the recipients and prospective users of a screensaver you've built!

To top it off, the actual screensavers you can build SUCK. Transitions SUCK -- slow and ugly. The app is written in realbasic, and unfortunately like most apps written in realbasic, it SUCKS.

Did I mention it SUCKS? There is actually a website out there that chronicles the suckiness of this software. I'm sure google will reveal all.
