Climb on, strap in and experience the pure adrenaline-pumping excitement of the Podracing sequence from Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Take the controls as Jedi-to-be Anakin Skywalker, or any one of over 20 Podracers, and feel the full-force blast of two massive jet engines at simulated speeds of up to 600 mph. Rein in a turbine-driven chariot through 8 spectacular worlds. Negotiate through flaming methane lakes, Tusken Raider assaults, anti-gravity tunnels and much more in a pulse-pounding, do-or-die fight to the finish where anyone will do anything to cross the finish line. How far will you go?

Love the game! Great Graphics and gameplay. I also like the turbo engine sounds, the way they roar. MacUpdate says it's compatible with OS 7.5 but the original system requirements say that it requires a G3 with *atleast* Mac OS 8.1 and 32MB RAM and 4MB VRAM. This is the original Lucas Arts Pod Racer Demo Website: http://www.lucasarts.com/products/starwarsracer/racer_demo.htm
It gives you all the system requirements and stuff. Overall, the game is one of the best racing games I've ever played, amazingly cool graphics to run on only OpenGL!! The only bad thing I have to say is that there is too few options, even for a demo. They give you 1 track and 5 or 6 pod racers. The full version has about 25 tracks, I'm not sure if it has anymore cars. I'm not complaining about the amount of cars in the demo (5 or 6 cars is great for a demo!!). I think the demo should atleast have 3 tracks. I took 1 star off for that little flaw. Otherwise, it's a great game!!!

Fun (if limited) demo, and surprisingly enough, it worked in Mac OS X under Classic and NOT Mac OS 9.2.2! Maybe it's just my hardware configuration (800 mhz, 512 MB RAM). Too bad it's not being sold in stores anymore, or so it seems.
