This software came up when I searched on Mac Update for a defrag tool for Mavericks.
I was happy to find freeware that will do a simple defrag without having to spend $39.99 or so for a full blown recovery tool like DiskPro etc.
However, only after installing can one find out that the 'Defrag feature is coming soon'. All of the features that are available today on this Remo software can be found on CCleaner / Onyx etc.
The unique feature of cloud enablement in Remo - this I am a bit cautious about. I don't see why a low level system optimization software needs to 'update the cloud'. In my view this is an unnecessary artifact of this 'cloud everything' approach and possibly poses a security risk.
For any device I would like to optimize, I prefer installing a local copy.
Tech support freelancers / some enterprises may find value in the remote optimization option, but not for reasonably technical users.
Bottom line - the defrag feature and a few other features are not there yet. As of now there is no compelling reason to instal this software, especially if you already have CCleaner / Onyx etc.
Good effort, though. I will check in on this once in a while and utilize this when the functionality exceeds that of CCleaner / Onyx.
Thanks to the developer for their efforts.
