Downloaded it from the Apple store

I'm a beginner on website design but after watching their video I could already start to understand how to work with it

I like the interface
Nice, clean interface, not cluttered

Lightweight and fast
Compared to the app I'm mostly working in, Rapidweaver
Although RW is now working on version 6

It could use some more examples (builtin or downloadable)

For a "young" application I find it promising
Yes, it's not yet a full blown heavyweight like the well known others
In the app store there are now 3 in-app purchases: I have bought them ... it's not that expensive

It has the nice version system built in
In the export windows: check / uncheck pages is possible but you have to click on the little gear ... this could be little better

Show pages, show images, show components: I could use here shortcuts like cmd 1, cmd 2, cmd 3

This is a future proof app with their chosen architecture
(bootstrap, html 5, css3 and responsive design)

The future features: looks good, let's see how fast the implementation will be
I have already voted on some

And I like their Esscher icon ;)

Mystery developer (No address or phone number) seems to have many unhappy customers in their forums.

"Free" doesn't really matter if the software doesn't work.

Not free. The most basic functionality will cost you $10.99 US.

In theory the Macupdate listing is correct to say "free" as the developers do say "Briqs is for free with optional accessories" but I agree with you Ean that those "optional" accessories such as HTML export and form controls are pretty much basic functionality so what they're really offering is a free demo.

I agree to, and in a so competitive area of softwares, full of real freewares, I think it's a big mistake to deceive its not yet client with a false promise.

I had to modifie my first quote: it seems that they find a way to give a true trial version through the Mac App Store filter by making the app free at first, then paid for the necessary features. It's well understandable when you visit their website, but not reflected in the macupdate presentation.
It's really difficult for devs to find a way to be fair with customers on the MAS. But IMHO, it would be smarter to sale the soft at the low price of 10$ within the export basic feature, rather than give it free…

And the soft seems to be really interesting, as it implements a well known framework (Bootstrap) to convert to html and css at export, which is a good step in the direction of correct and lightweight code online.
Give a trial and send your impressions back!
