Not sure how often I would have to change sound source or sample rates.

And can you actually play sounds from two or more different sources at the same time and at different rates ?

OOPS: AudioMate 2.0.0 does NOT work on 10.7.5. It crashes when run. The Console crash notice is below. I'll try to send the full crash report to the developer.

AudioMate 2.0.2 is now available at the developer's website. It's running fine on OS X 10.7.5 Lion!

Regarding system notifications, the developer points out:
"Note: This functionality requires Growl when using Mac OS X 10.7."

I don't know why the demo video isn't playing here at MU. You can watch it on the developer's home page.

Works for me. Perhaps some browser extension is blocking it?

I reloaded this page and tried again: Now the video plays fine! No doubt the Internet is haunted. ;-)

For some time now, some of the sliders that change the volume do not stick in the position they are moved to and remain at the left end of the bar. 10.9.4, version 1.4.2. I've had to stop using AudioMate. Tried to send a comment to the author from his web page, but it was blocked. Oh well.

The last few upgrades of Mac OS has a really decent I/O switcher built into the OS that works with the Sound Preferences. It can be put right up in the Menu up top, and is very easy to use as a switcher or overall volume control. So I stopped using these Third Party Apps. So I'm wondering if folks don't realize this or think they need some other app.
For switching Input or Output, just press Option key then left click on icon in the menu. I forget how far back it was added.
If it isn't showing in Menu Bar, just open system preferences, Click on Sound, then check mark on bottom of the 3 preferences: Sound Effects, Input, and Output then the icon will appear in Menu. No need to add 3rd party app unless it's an old OS without this Control. I used to use Sound Switcher before Apple added this and it is the same thing, if I remember correctly.
If you use Boom Device, it will show up in the list too. But if you have Boom device on, it will become default I/O. So if you don't want that to happen, Quit Boom Device. It will still be in the list but won't take over.

I can see now why some people want use AudioMate. It does have a lot more features than just switching devices.
My Sliders didn't stay where I put them either.
Guess I'll stick to one that came with the OS.

Developer quick to fix my issue.

V1.3 now available at their site.
Working perfectly in 10.8.2.

Developer will be adding volume controls in future updates which will make this a killer utility!!!
