Boost & Memory has the ability to free up inactive memory with only one click. This enables Mac users to run more applications simultaneously and get things done faster. Boost&Memory allows Mac users to clear the inactive RAM both automatically and manually. The dynamic icon on the menu bar makes the memory control tools easy to access. It lets the user monitor the percentage of used memory, as well as the option to run a memory free-up operation. It also provides the user with valuable information about the amount of currently available memory and the memory currently used by system. Moreover, it also provides more...

This is just a GUI slapped on the DRAM ‘purge' command, and 99% of Mac users will never have legitimate cause to purge memory because 1) OS X automatically manages memory very efficiently; 2) there’s a very good reason why open applications' instructions are stored in DRAM (which is far faster than disk memory) — it makes your Mac run faster, so purging memory almost ALWAYS makes your Mac run SLOWER, not faster, as this dev would have you believe; 3) if you ever did have legitimate cause to purge memory, you don’t have to pay for a (cr)app like this to do it for you because doing it yourself is as easy as opening the Terminal and entering the command ‘purge’.

This developers of this and many other free and shareware memory purging apps are exploiting your ignorance about the 3 points listed above in order to make a quick buck because, as Mark Twain said, "The problem is not that the world is too full of fools; it’s that lightning is improperly distributed."

Hello, GeoProff! Thank you for your response!

Mostly you are right. OS X has an amazing memory managing tool embedded. Nevertheless, some programs like browsers, Photoshope, etc, being launch start using a lot of memory, that cannot be released by the system until the program is quitted.

Our product solves this issue as well.

Hey, my MBPro on 10.9.1, using Safari especially, slows to a halt, simply does not release memory without something like this tool.

If I don't want to restart browser - and I don't, I just want to use Safari like always - have not found a better answer, and no, am not going to open Terminal when these little apps keep things going, The solution? I don't know.

I surely do wish OS X memory management were as good as we wish to believe. The Apple core os team has really been sitting on their hands for the last few years. They need to turn to the Solaris kernel for some corrective suggestions and examples for superior memory management. Heck, Linux at this point does a better job. I'm sad that apps like this are needed; sometimes when I'm doing very heavy lifting handy memory purge apps speed up the process of clearing out some cruft of the 32GB that I nearly always keep close to max.

It is a very simply app by Nektony, resembles theirs famous Funter by its realization.

Run the app, press icon "Free-up memory" and enjoy results!
