Downloads fine, but doesn't do anything for me. The test page comes up empty, despite the Safari reset hint that pops up.

In your Safari Preferences, in the "AutoFill" section, do you have "Using info from my Address Book card" checked? If so, you have to start typing your name in the first field of the test page to test Safari's autofill. How Safari performs its autofill, and any related shortcomings, are Apple's responsibility and outside the scope of this app.

Thank you @MactechnologiesConsulting! The Autofill section isn't selected, as it fills EVERYTHING in the "Me" card, which of course isn't what we want, as you rightfully pointed out.

But with Autofill deselected Safari Autofill Prefs, does't fill any for fields for me. Can you please take a moment and explain what settings I should use to make your app work? Thank you.

There is some confusion. This app isn't designed to autofill anything for you. It let you tell Safari which bits of information among your many addresses, e-mail addresses and phone numbers are "primary" when Safari does its autofill. It solves the problem of "Safari keeps filling in my home address when I really want to use my work address." If you have Safari's autofill turned off, this app won't make a difference to you.

OK, thanks.

Here is what happens when I follow your steps on my side: I select "Autofill" in Safari, in Safari Autofill Prefs I choose only my Home email, address and phone number and on the test page I type the first letters of my name, a window pops up showing the correct info to autofill, but when I hit OK it fills ALL form fields on this page, work, home, fax, everything.

Yes, that's how Safari's autofill works. I designed the test page to test any browser's autofill as thoroughly as possible so you will know what to expect. Where my app makes a difference is in, for example, the "Phone" field. In your case, it should fill in your home phone number there as opposed to, say, your work or mobile number.

OK, now I get it. Your test page fills all form fields to show that the right info is in the right field. I suppose this means in an actual scenario it will fill only the designated info, right?

I guess, a short read me file would have helped me understand this better.

It all depends on how that page in the "actual scenario" is designed. If the field is labelled phone, it will put in your primary phone number as designated through Safari Autofill Prefs. But if it is labelled "Work Phone" or similar, Safari will choose your work number.

Unfortunately, Safari doesn't work like that. You can only have one "primary" for each category of data.

Destroyed my autofill altogether.

On the Test Page I get nothing at all. I followed the hint to delete other autofills, but still nothing. When I went to Safari autofill prefs and selected to edit my Address Book card, it sent me to Outlook, which is my primary set of contacts. I have Outlook set up to sync with Address Book. To confuse matters, I also have a duplicate set of contacts in my Address Book that I use to sync with iCloud. (I keep the 2 sets up-to-date manually for now. I wish I could sync Outlook directly to iCloud, but I can’t.)

When I select autofill this page from the Safari menu, I get the message “AutoFill completes webpage forms using information from your Address Book card or from web forms you completed previously. The information required by this form does not match any of the information available to AutoFill.”
Help. At this point I’ll accept the old autofill back.

Safari's autofill is, shall we say, odd. You often can't use the Autofill option and, instead, just have to start typing into the first field to get autofill. You also have to make sure the proper autofill settings are turned on in Safari preferences.

The app doesn't seem to work with a german address book.
My name is always displayed as first and last name, and the street address isn't there at all. The mobile phone number is in every form field even if it's not selected.
All entries in my address book are correct. I tried the troubleshooting tip but it doesn't change anything.

I'm not sure that it being a German version of the OS has anything to do with it as these are all System calls. It sounds like something else is going on with your Address Book and you might want to have a professional examine it. Perhaps at an Apple Store?
