ButtonBar+ is a new extension for the Safari web browser. If you like to store your favorite bookmarks on the Safari Bookmarks bar for easy, one-click access but you've run out of space, ButtonBar+ is the extension for you.

With ButtonBar+ you can create a second bookmarks bar for Safari that is highly customizable and configurable. What's more, you can create additional instances of the Bar - it's like having as many one-click bookmarks bars as you wish.

What's New

Version 1.2:

ButtonBar+ now has the ability to display up to 5 bookmark bars simultaneously.
Added the ability to display sub-menus in the main ButtonBar+ menu.
Added overflow menus to all bars when bookmarks overflow.
Added the ability to display the name of the current bookmark category on the bookmark bar.
Added the ability to apply styling to all bars globally.

In theory this is a great program but it crashes constantly and the backup/restore function DOES NOT WORK!! You can cut and paste all you want, as instructed, but absolutely nothing happens. Save your money on this one--the frustration factor isn't worth it.

Hi Cgcis,
Can you give me some more details here - what was making it crash?
Despite several thousand downloads I have never had one reported crash.
Can you let me know what OS version and what version of Safari you are running please.

Sure--I'm using 10.6.8, and Safari 5.1.2, but it's done it before with other iterations. Scenario: Buttonbar drops out of sight, leaving only a remnant in the space it formerly occupied. I can't get it to pop back up. I close, try adding a new bar, nothing works. Forced to uninstall to get it back, and when I attempt to restore, nothing happens. Zero. I cut and paste, hit the button, with no result. Very frustrating...

I run 10.6.8 with Safari 5.1.2 with no problems - can I ask you a big favour - if you still have it installed can you send me a screenshot of what you get when this problem occurs?

By the way.... Sometimes, when I quit Safari and then open it again, the letters of the bookmarks are much too large. If I repeat this process, it looks mostly back to normal. (I have the Pro-Version) Maybe you know this problem and can fix it. Best regards

ButtonBar is awesome! I love being able to customize my favorite/most-used links in my own private button bar, and the set-up is a breeze. Definitely one of my favorite Safari extensions now.

Oh, sure, absolutely! I also posted a review on my Wall in Facebook saying how much I enjoyed it. I do plan to get the Plus version -- well worth the $3.50...just haven't taken the time to do it yet because I've been so busy. :)
