Just a couple of heads up when using:
1) The time stamp/date modified heading didn't change on the file; I think it would be helpful if this were changed to give the time the file was rebuilt.
2) The how-to-use documentation is badly in need of just one more line of text: "choose a file or files and then click the repair button (the hammer icon) in the tool bar." Hence I docked ease of use one star.
3) A note to other potential users: be sure to do the repair before clicking the forward arrow icon in the tool bar, which exports it to iTunes. If it is exported first, and then an attempt to repair is made, the application crashes. Of course, the only reason you would do this in the wrong order is if you aren't clear on what icon button does what -- as I wasn't at first. Hence I docked Stability one star.
I agree that the developer could spell out in at least a little detail how the program works; however, he does have a blog and that information may be covered there.
@Mistere, I'd use this or any other such code in a non-willy-nilly fashion no matter how well documented its workings were. Make copies/backups of any files you attempt to repair and then play them/check them out before going into any kind of production mode modifying/repairing of multiple files.
And for the record, the issue I had with my mp3 was discussed in a thread on VBR issues, so yes, this code appears to deal with such matters.
