None of these Launchpad editors are ever going to work unless they include SQL database editing. That's why they don't actually save settings. The successful one will be able to modify the database in ~/Library/Application Support/Dock.

The tool is a great idea, but it does not work and there is no communication possible with the developer. Even the activation to the Pro version does not work at all. Seams to be a know bug, but as there is no reaction to mails etc. .....

Needs to be able to add apps to containers.
Pretty useless if all you can do is edit the first page. I understand the paid version edits all pages but instead of naming it pro and free version, it should be named regular and crippled demo version.

Bugs. Bugs. I went to delete an icon from the LaunchPad database, but got an SQL syntax error. Program is largely untested. Furthermore, the minute I launched the program, I was bombarded with marketing dialogs to upgrade for $4.99 to the Pro version. So I did, but am disappointed because the OS (Lion) needs an app like this. LaunchPad, as it comes from Apple, is tantalizing but extremely basic in functionality.

The free versión only edit the first page and is not possible to do a group.

Requiere Adobe Air.

Have a look at Launchpad-Control. It is free although donations accepted. I add
ed it above in Similar Software.

I should have added that the link on MacUpdate for Launchpad-Control is for a slightly out-dated version. Follow the links to the Dev's site to download vers. 1.3.

I haven't tried either of these, so I'm not rating or evaluating pers se. It does appear that Launchpad Cleaner has more features than Launchpad Control. I don't have time to try them out at the moment, but I hope someone can do a comparison of how they work.

i did compare. cleaner has a nicer interface and more functions, control is a pref pane (i like it more than the app) and it is FREE. personally, i do not think i will be tweaking launchpad often so i do not need the control's functionality
