This is from the creator of MacTubes. But really needs to be more well-known -- that's why I'm posting this review. :)
You can assign a shortcut key to MacVideoDL (using Keyboard Maestro or a similar utility) and call it this way whenever you need to grab a video, then just quit it (because it wastes some CPU sometimes). It starts up really fast -- much faster than iTubeX -- so it can be used in this way.
BTW, I also use iTubeX, but only for capturing several videos from YouTube.
