Raindrops is a simple screen saver, approximating ripples from raindrops as they fall in a puddle. It is my attempt to recreate a screen saver I had on my Macintosh SE/30 years ago. I'm teaching myself Cocoa, and this is the first product. Enjoy!

What's New

Version 1.2:

RAdded a Color Well, allowing the user to select a color for the ripples.
Added an option to randomize the ripple diameter.

There were some significant "under the hood" changes with this release (1.2), so I suggest you delete the preferences file for any preexisting version of Raindrops before installing the latest version. Preferences files are typically found in the ~/Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences/ByHost directory.

Congratulations on your furthering this and your cocoa progression.
Love this screensaver. Made the bubbles my favorite color so it's soothing while it's going and I'm occupied with something else.

My pleasure. I'm glad you like it. It hasn't progressed as fast as I'd like (job, wife, kids, house, and all that) but it's been satisfying.

I'd like if I could pick a color. Also a random or variating speed would be swell, and lastly if I could have the option of seeing the screensaver on top of the current screen.

The 1.2 release includes the color feature, and allows you to randomize the ripple diameters. The desktop is a good suggestion! I'll dive into that as possible and see what I can do.
