StarCraft is a real-time strategy game from Blizzard that takes place in space.

StarCraft was originally released for Mac OS 8/9 (but is no longer supported on those platforms). To install the game under Mac OS X, you must download this installer and run it with the original StarCraft disc in your Mac's optical drive.

Feature Changes:

In-game Speed Options menu now has a "Enable CPU Throttling" checkbox. Enabling this option will allow StarCraft to consume fewer CPU cycles. By default this option is off.

Bug Fixes:

Fixed an issue with the reply feature where any character followed by a "r" was being treated as a reply.
Removed an unnecessary delay when processing palette cycling updates.
Lessened the imposed delay in the CPU Throttling feature.

The new 1.16.1 patch for StarCraft is great. Besides the fact that the game is now almost 11 years old (10 years, 10 months at the time of this review) and Blizzard is still making efforts to keep the game alive, this update is absolutely fantastic. I own a laptop with power scaling properties and most of the games, including the 1.5 version of StarCraft, use 100% of the processor. But this patch fixed this problem, and now I can enjoy a silent match (no overheating, no cooler needed) with the Protoss and save battery at the same time.
I highly recommend you to update your game to this version. If you don't own Starcraft you can buy it for $15 from the blizzard website, or download a pirated version from gamegoldies.org, versions available for MAC and PC ;)

Why would you recommend pirating a game right after commending the developers for supporting it over a decade after its original release? Shame on you!

It's not expensive folks. I saw it at my local shop for ten bucks the other day. Go pick up a copy and say thanks to the folks who still support it after all this time.
