Vico is a programmers text editor with a strong focus on keyboard control. Vico uses vi key bindings to let you keep your fingers on the home row and work effectively with your text.

Vico comes with support for the most common languages, such as html, php, ruby and javascript. And since Vico can use existing bundles, it's easy to add more.

Vico also features integrated SFTP for working with remote files, split views to let you edit files side-by-side and a file explorer for fast project navigation.

Really like the combination of vim editing and textmate bundles

I fail to understand how people can keep releasing so-called "text editors" that cannot edit text in the major languages of the world, despite robust Unicode support being built into the OS since Mac OS X 10.0 (and before). This is another one of those. Looked kind of interesting, but that's a fatal and show-stopping flaw.

It could be related to the fact that a lot of the text editors are intended for computer programmers, and not for 'natural language'.

Computer programmers don't speak and write only English. I work with some Japanese programmers, and they definitely tend to use their native language a lot.

However, I am happy to note that the new version of Vico no longer suffers from this flaw. It can now open and edit files containing Japanese text.

So excited for this one. It's not quite ready for everyday use (some key Vim key commands still need to be implemented, e.g., wrapped-line navigation, etc.), but if this thing works out, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Right now, I am quite impressed with the responsiveness and clean design of the app. Both TextMate and MacVim can get pretty sluggish when doing certain things-- I had almost forgotten what it was like to zip around in such a clean environment.

The ability to import TextMate bundles and Themes is the killer feature of this app. Having a basic .vimrc-type setup would also be great, though I'm sure that a lot of the more extended Vim functionality will have to be eliminated.

Keep up the awesome work-- you have at least on customer waiting!

The best of Vim and TextMate in one editor. Looks great, this could be the one.
