Alien Sizzle is a simple space arcade shooter where you try to destroy passing UFOs by firing only one missile at a time from your ship, which must be launched at the correct moment. It is based on an old Apple ][ game called Alien Drizzle, but with several enhancements, such as improved graphics, sound, high-score tracking, and extensions to the original gameplay. Freeware.
What's New
Version 1.0.3:
A few changes, including a new method of handling high scores.
"Simple" is right.....not much going on in this arcade shooter. I found that Alien Sizzle got boring before too long....no sizzle here I'm afraid, and I do like arcade style games. I have the same critique for his other game, "Bricks and Bugs".
It's my guess that the developer is a novice and this is one of his early efforts.
I'd like to see more complexity, more elements to the game play....would make the game a lot more interesting.
One plus for not making his games a MacCrapStore item(although, that could change) and another for keeping them free(I've no problem paying for a well designed, fun game but sadly Alien Sizzle is neither.
I think that I'll wait for the developer to hone his skills a lot more before checking out his work again.
