There is already a program named Shortcuts with the same version number from Abracode. It does something completely different, works in Contextual Menus and has been around for many years. Obviously this can be very confusing to the user. I suggest that since Abracode product was released before this one, that the developer of this program changes its name to something else to avoid confusion.

As posted previously, I am (or was) a big fan of Shortcuts.

Originally, I purchased Shortcuts v1.4.1 via a MacLife Bundle. But now (apparently), the updates can only be obtained via a new purchase either directly from the developer or from the App Store.

I understand the developer is working this issue, but progress in this regard has been dreadfully slow.

If no joy is to be had soon, I will repurchase Shortcuts. But indeed my opinion will change.

The developer has indeed resolved the issue: The "Check For Updates" within the app now works, though an uninstall/reinstall & restart may be necessary (but settings will not be lost).

And all is again, right with the world.

For many, many, years I have been a contented MaxMenus user. With that no longer being supported, I have been on the hunt for an easy-to-use launcher.

After trying several others, I found that Shortcuts met my needs: rock solid, friendly GUI, and able to easily launch (via user defined shortcut) apps, web sites, scripts, folders, and files.

As for the cost, MacLife’s Name Your Price Bundle allowed Shortcuts (and Find Any File) to be purchased for $5.00 total. Your cost could be even less.

Yes, much of what this app does is built in to the OS, but for ease & convenience, I found the cost acceptable.

Don't see how this is any better than Keyboard Shortcuts already available with Mac OS X.

And for $10? Hard to justify the price, especially when so many others do this and better for less and even FREE.

ok, apart from this app being distributed by MAS, which would anyway prevent me from using it, i don't understand where the 5 stars are coming from, seen the fact that only one voice is on MU ?
Is that explainable a bit ?

THANK you for reminding me this feature was already part of OS X system preferences. Made my day. :)

Yes, and Spark is free too and has more functions.

I'm still on 10.6 and there are no application specific keyboard shortcuts to the functions inside a specific application beyond menu choices.

If all you need is getting at menu options in any app or changing existing ones, OS X will work. But not for changing existing application shortcuts without modifier keys.
