Once you have chosen either one of the default selection criteria such as your bookmarks or history or have put the cookies of some sites which you really want to keep on your 'keep-list', you can run the cleaning process automatically to a schedule which suits your needs. The schedules can be built easily and as customized and flexible as you want them to be. Supporting almost every commonly used browser in the market (currently Safari, Firefox, Chromium, Chrome,Roccat Camino, OmniWeb, Flash) you can use this program either to investigate exactly what websites are storing on your computer or clean it in one click or just let it run without you even remembering to run it. You can even integrate Cookie Stumbler actions into your own workflow by using our Automator Actions. They answered my questions to my complete satisfaction and even gave me more information than I'd requested. I must say I feel much better knowing that this is the level of support they provide.
Cookie Stumbler's operation is easy and automatic. You can just set it and forget it - but if you need help they're very quick to assist.

The hang was caused due to invalid Adobe Flash Cookies. For some reason, it seems that Flash doesn't actually check whether the cookies passed to its cookie storage actually have a valid URL, which is what Cookie Stumbler expected.
This issue has been addressed in Cookie Stumbler 1.4.4.1.

Both apps do the same: they check if there are new definitions and app updates available. You will notice this again next weekend when CS isn't running the agent will alert about new filter definitions. We aren't gathering any information that has a commercial value from any data that are being transmitted to us. This would also kind of defeat the purpose of what we are providing to our customers as a service.
