What's New
Version 1.1.2:
Fixed a bug that caused the welcome window to reappear.
Added an option to (de-)select all items in the archive window.
Another "hide my desktop" application, thanks to the stupid App Store. How many there are now of these? Just download the free DesktopUtility if yo want to hide your desktop items for presentation.
So, you don't like the app because it does the same as others you've seen? that's a really poor reason to even give it a rating. How about a comment instead expressing your opinion. You didn't give a single reason why this should rate half a star. A pox on you, sir.
Great utility, I discovered this over at the Mac App Store, but then saw it here. TT works very fast, I don' tknow how he does it. Kudos to the dev! I'd like to see a few more options (like scheduling), but for a 1.0, its really well done.
I've used it multiple times without any issues restoring - icon locations are preserved. The 'show archive' function takes you to where the files were moved.
Ahh… "Show archive" just opens the corresponding folder in a Finder window, similar to opening Desktop in a window (with whatever view/options are in effect).
Thanks for the response. Still wondering if it's possible to use this for reducing Desktop clutterer while still having certain items be more permanent. Maybe sometimes necessary to manually move any perm items back to Desktop after saving an archive. Maybe designate one archive as the primary one to restore, with perm items, after temp use of others. Maybe worth a buck just to try. :)
Btw, some lower-case words in actions of menu items (e.g. archive, desktop, login) probably ought to be upper-case.

Also, what does "Show Archive" (seen under the menu in the image here) do?
