The Mac App Store is messed up. Though White Noise is listed as one of the apps I own, I cannot get it to update. It keeps saying I have updates under another account, which is strange since WN is listed under my regular Apple ID account.

You could have stopped with the first sentence and already have said a mouthful. Sorry you're having trouble, by the way. If it's useful info., I was able to update successfully. I have two Apple accounts.

I had the same problem on one of my machines. Make sure you don't have your startup partition listed in Spotlight's privacy pane. For some odd reason, the App Store uses your Spotlight (metadata) database to determine what you've purchased.

White Noise give the user access to an array of sound effects and soundscapes, ranging from white and brown noise to nature or even machine noises. The soundscapes are edited so expertly that it's often hard to determine when they begin. I've had no luck in using these to sleep, but the sounds are relaxing, and I've used a version of this application for the iPod Touch.

Nice little app to relieve stress and calm your spirit. I have no problem with it being only available via Apple's App Store as I use Pay Pal and a prepaid credit card. The fact that it's free and also available for the iPhone and iPad also improves it's overall value.

Looks like a great app and I'd love to try it. Too bad it's only available on the App Stop, a model I cannot in good conscience support.
