A good quality digital camera would be around that price and the photos will be way better than any webcam photos. $299 for the app for webcam? It's better be producing better quality than shooting with a Hasselblad.

You have to install this via a .pkg file (sketchy), and during the install in launches the Terminal and does something weird and closes the Terminal right away. That's a bit sketchy to me. Apps shouldn't need to be messing with the Terminal to install. Subsequently, I immediately trashed the program and all associated files I could find. I'm not messing with this. It's too suspicious.

SnapShot Studio Photo Booth uses Apple's own installer, PackageMaker, which is used to install ALL of Apple's titles- Nothing "sketchy" here.

A shell script launches during post-install to do two things:
• Archive old preferences that may not be compatible with your installed version.
• Set correct privileges to the app and preferences.

SnapShot Studio Photo installs its executable files in your /Applications/ Folder.

SnapShot Studio Photo Booth installs preference files in your ~/Library/Preferences/SnapShot Studio Photo Booth/ folder.

If there were anything questionable about my app, it would not have been approved by the good folks here @ MacUpdate. Should anyone have any questions, you can always contact me via email (listed in my profile) or via my site: http://www.allenchristopher.com/contact.php

Privileges should be set by the installer (read Xcode's Package Maker). As for running a shell script, that's a bit coarse from a coding perspective (for reasons outline my Ilovemymac). Better to add that function right into the app on first launch. It looks a lot better than having Terminal flash up after install. That's just sloppy actually...
