I fail to see the attraction of this music player. iTunes folders are not respected, though its playlists do show up. I prefer to stay at iTunes 10.7 which I feel, despite drawbacks, is the better player of the two .

With some superior playlist handling I could be tempted. The playback speed feels like a novelty function as do the visualizor and the EQ graph. Those are nothing to get overly excited for.

Like Ecoute, Music Player X works. That's hardly enough.

and again, why are 'APP STORE only' products even listed here?

if you cannot download it here it shouldn't be listed here!

Agreed. If macupdate made it a prerequisite that any software listed must offer a trial period, then maybe all these 'app store' developers would get the message.

You can deselect "Commercial" under the Filter on MacUpdate to eliminate any listings that are App Store only without a trial download.

Thanks for that info, Joel. I see where to do so on the main page, is there a way to filter with an RSS feed? (I've put a new feed into Vienna after changing the filter and App Store apps are still showing.) Thanks.

I feel Macupdate should be about ALL mac software, not just freeware and shareware. We deserve an alternative to App store and a one stop for all Mac apps.

Many developers make a second downloadable version from their own web site. Wish more developers did it like that.

Okay, am I missing something with this new app store approach? It appears that I'm being limited to all-or-nothing? There's no demo of this for me to try before I buy? I either buy it or I don't? Sorry, no can do.

And, ya, $4.99 in this economy is a lot of money. It adds up fast. Please give me a demo. I'm interested, but I'm not giving money to people for mere promises of quality.
