Lion and Grappler don’t play nice. When I launch Grappler its interface won’t render and all my other open applications sort of freeze so that I can’t use them anymore until I shut down Grappler.

Cosmopod is so many thousands of times better than ANY, and I mean ANY of these other video downloading apps, that I just cannot understand why people keep popping for this junk I have probably tried more than TWENTY such apps, and every one virtually sucks in comparison. But the most valuable superlative experience I can relate is this: In one whole year, Cosmopod has failed to download video from ONE SITE — which I later discovered wasn't working with ANY video downloading app. Before you waste your money on this dreck, check out Cosmopod and see whether I'm full of it or not.

When reading your review for the first time, and seeing you dish out the same praise of CosmoPod when rating similar software, I thought you were a developer or employee doing some undercover advertising. However, after trying out the software you so heartily recommended, I understand why you went to the trouble of writing those glowing reviews. Thanks for making me discover CosmoPod.

I also had the exclamation mark problem. I emailed them, and they responded quickly with a link to a beta which does not have this problem. Not sure why they're not warning new customers or just deploying the new version, but it now works great.

In response to the person complaining about Flash being required, how else do you expect to decode flv files? Not that I'm not a flash-basher myself, but it kinda goes without saying when dealing with streaming video.

You can always tether Flash using this: http://www.bashflash.com/

4 stars because they made me ask for the beta to fix the problem with the current version.

Have been trying to get this to work but without any success. Found a 10 minute video at DailyMotion that played without any problem in Grappler, so clicked the Download button and the saved file was a 15 second advert. Tried again, same problem. Tried using the Download button in the search result list and all I got was a graphic of a film clip with a yellow exclamation mark on it (and no video saved). Tried this on another video on a different site with the same results.

So unfortunately it's not working at all for me.

Version 1.0.3 is good running and it seems that the bugs are solved. I'll write a new review and give a positive feedback.
