LinkThing Safari Extension enhances your control over how links on web pages are opened.

Features:
  • Have Safari open links in new tabs by default (when you just click them normally). You can apply this setting globally or per-site, and you can apply it to offsite links and onsite links independently.
  • Optionally open links in new tabs by right-clicking them. (You can still get the link's context menu by Control-clicking it.)
  • Choose where to position new tabs when Command-clicking links.
  • Instantly add links to your Instapaper
What's New
Version 2.1.2:
  • This release hopefully fixes an issue in the Google link rewriting feature, where clicks on image search results were not handled if you clicked a thumbnail before it expanded.
  • Google link rewriting now also applies to Google image results on ordinary result pages.
Requirements
  • PPC / Intel
  • Mac OS X 10.6 or later
  • Safari 5.1 or later

Loving it. The ease of overriding link behavior for specific websites, in specific ways, is a godsend. Thank you very much for this. No complaints so far.

Rescued us from poor UI of not having our tabs open at the end. Thanks for this latest fix, to have LinkThing work after navigating back.

It seems the latest update is causing problems--link settings only work intermittently. Have to disable it for now.

This could be fine extension, but now it does not work with opening new tab with a middle click.

How are you performing a middle click?

Tsehov replied on 05 Sep 2011
Just clicking the wheel of the mouse or when using Magic Mouse double clicking the right side of the MM (I am using Jitouch). Neither way works.

I would like the new tab to open right of current tab, but it sometimes does that and sometimes not.

I'll see if I can add middle button support.

It is accomplished. Look for the 2.0.15 update in Safari's extension manager.

Clicking the icon in the tool bar doesn't bring up the settings menu. I tried control clicking it as well.
