Twixl Publisher Builder lets designers easily create an iPad app, based on Adobe InDesign content. It consists of a plug-in for InDesign and a Builder application that allows a user to create a preview in the iPad simulator or create a real app build (depending on the version of the product).
It is the only product of its kind in that it gives designers easy access to publishing on the iPad, all without the need to be familiar with Xcode programming. Actually, in order to create a build of a publication, a designer will never see a single line of code.

Version 2.2.1:
- Added support for image sequences (360° views)
- Added support for panorama VR views
- Added support for autoplay of slide shows, and a selection of transitions
- Added support for pan and zoom
- Added options to customize the thumbnail viewer’s look&feel (formerly called ‘scrubber’)
- Added new publication option ‘Horizontal swiping only’ (i.e. all articles and pages will be “flattened” into a horizontal-only app)
- Users can now define templates for new articles, and these can be selected when creating a new article
- Removed the Twixl Publisher menu and added these menu functions as options within the palette - to open the palette, select it from Window -> Extensions
- The plug-in is now installed in the Adobe Application Support folder at the root level, instead of at the user level

What is not possible with the free version is the option to create App Store builds by yourself. Either this can be done for a fee per app, or you can purchase a (more expensive) license that allows you to create an unlimited number of apps by yourself.

You need to be registered as an Apple Developer though, to install the apps on your iPad. Otherwise you can only see the result in the iPad simulator.
