I had a glitch after installing version 5 (.0 or .0.1 I'm not sure) but after clearing the cache and the cookies it worked perfectly and version 5.0.2 seems ok.
Some intruction in the prefs would be nice though, I finally found how to do what there was to do (click on the green EQ letters to change behaviour — which is not obvious, neither is the way to dim background colour).
And Luc, why don't you put your web page in English, not everybody speaks german, you know... ;-)
Except for that, it's a great little app that does something I could only do before using a system pref called Hotbox.
Danke schön, Luc! :-D

hi, thank you for your kindness!
my page has an english locale which should show when your browser is set to prefer english. i changed the default to english now too, so you might check. otherwise: the green EQ is not a button but an "indicator light". to enhance the image without the bar just double-click on the background anywhere around the image - or use the new toolbar button.

Thank you!
But how can I display again the Extension Bar? I've checked the box in the prefs and it doesn't show...
And double-clicking on the background doesn't do anything...
Today, the green EQ has turned to red and crossed on the first image I tried and doesn't show at all with other images...
I'm on PPC using 10.5.8 Safari 5.0.6, just in case.
Thanks for the english page! :-)

Ah! The toolbar came back when I tried your test image (http://www.luc.at/safari_extensions/img/fruits_dull.jpg) and now the checkbox in the prefs make it appear or not, so it's ok.
All the functions are working on your test image but nor on others, I suppose it's image related.
Maybe a shortcut to make the toolbar appear would be a plus? Or simply a click on the Centerimage logo. ;-)

Ahem... Actually the toolbar is able to appear only on your test image. It doesn't work on all the other images I've tried...

the problems do not appear with safari 5.1. i have no previous version of safari to try it.

Now the toolbar doesn't show at all, even with your test image... (maybe some conflict with another extension... when I have time, I'll uncheck the others to see)

For me the EQ has always only ever had a red x over it, or it doesn't appear at all. I also can no longer change the background color (from white to black and grey in between). I can get the toolbar to appear when I go into the Extension's prefs, but that's not really ideal. I mostly only use CenterImages to adjust the background and center the image... at least it does one of those things reliably still :)

Might just be me, but I immediately had issues with CenterImages 5.0: first, the toolbar appeared (despite being unchecked in prefs) and wouldn't go away until I check and then UNchecked the "show toolbar" command; next, it totally blocked images on an iTunes preview page. At that point I just turned it off.

It's certainly possible that it's conflicting with my adblocker or something, resulting in blank pages, but turning it off entirely IMMEDIATELY fixed the issues.

Very nice idea! Separate images look much better this way. Works fine here in Safari 5.0.3 and MacOSX 10.6.5 on my Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with jpg. png, and gif images. The additional toolbar is indeed not needed once you know the functions of this extension, but it can be hidden easily. You can choose some appearance settings (like shadow and/or reflection) for this extension in Safari preferences.
