be careful : it's possible that JAVA 1.6 is already installed on your system.
It is enough to activate Java 1.6.
It is not the case, please update your system ("update softwares..." in menu of the finder).

The first clause sounds as if 10.6 had that issue, too.
Being a typologist, I'm not really so much into long dead languages ;-) but I'm glad to hear about any linguistic / philological effort.

If you want to uninstall the app it can be a real pain in theAss to do so;
there are a lot of files scattered all over the place and it is a realBitch getting rid of them all.

All the files are located in "application" and "preferences" directories.

please, verify if you have the right version of JAVA.
else install JAVA 1.6 on your computer.
For that, consult the availables JAVA updates which have to be installed on your mac (in the menu of finder) .
