Stay is for those who are fastidious about keeping their windows tidy. Stay ensures that your windows are always where you want them to be, even as you connect and disconnect displays.
Move your windows to where you want them, then have Stay store them. Once stored, windows can be returned to their stored state at any time by having Stay restore them.
What's New
Version 1.2:
Added the ability to run scripts when restoring windows.
Added the ability to specify a regular expression to use when matching window titles.
Fixed a conflict that could occur when running Divvy at the same time as Stay.
Added X11 to the blocked applications list.
Altered Stay's icon to comply with Mac App Store rules.
Appears to do everything I could want, except the things that drive me to want to purchase it...
i.e. 1.) no ability to move space on application launch (to fix those apps, like Parallels, that no longer respect the 'This Desktop' setting) and 2.) no working with X11 windows or Steam what so ever.
Stay and Moom besides are my choices to organize all my Finder and specific Application windows. Stay I think is the only Utility that stores and restores the individual defined position of different Application windows (for example the Main window and Equalizer window in iTunes) in just one step via Menu or Hotkey. I love it, because my wife and my son very often disarrange different Application windows. A killer feature is Stays option to restore windows as Applications are launched. Thanks to the Developer for this jewel.
I bought it . It is great . I have a program THNKORSWIM with multiple windows set up . It does not always repopulate on the monitors in the same configuration that it is shut down in . Could not solve the problem ... well STAY did ... works great .
Thanks .
After some experimenting on both and tweeking on the THINKORSWIM program . I have gotten it to work . STAY does what it says it will . The developer contacted me a couple of times trying to help me with the problem so he is attentive . It save me a lot of time and aggravation . Good purchase .
I bought this software more than two months go and can't find a suitable adjective to describe its usefulness. I often keep many windows open on my Mac and move them around continuosly. Before knowing "Stay" I had to spend a lot of time reorganizing all these windows and restore them to their original position. Now I have a Genie at my disposal that does this tiring function with one click. How quick and painless a once tedious job has become thanks to this tiny yet great utility! If you don't like mousing around like me then look no further. Fariborz Amirshahi - Verona (Italy)
I'd like to try this program but unfortunately it doesn't function for me. The first time I launched it all its menus were disabled. When I tried to relaunch it for the second time it showed a dialog box that its trial period was over! Something must be wrong here. Has anyone else got the same issue?
