VFX uses WINE to offer built in support for VST plug-ins originally intended for use on the Windows operating system. That means you can now load and play nearly every Windows VST plug-in directly in Mac OS X and route the audio signals to your favorite sequencer (e.g. via Soundflower). You don't need the V-Machine hardware to play your Windows VST plug-ins on your Mac!

What's New

Version 2.0 (20101204):

Fixed bug where if a channel was soloed, then other non-soloed channels at 0dB gain would still be heard.
Try and set entire plugin folder writeable when assimilating a plugin. This fixes problems with plugins that need to write to their folder.

Don't listen to the other comments about this not running. This program is amazing. As long as you have X11 and Wine installed (I have wine bottle installed) this program runs beautifully. Still working out the kinks but it runs Windows only VST's.

Tip: When you import a VST, make sure to select no wizard file in the dropdown. It froze the program when I tried to check for wizard files. So beware of that. All in all great program!

No problems here. Downloaded the software, installed it, loaded vst plugin - played.

Did you previous posters really have X11 installed? I also had wine preinstalled, maybe that made it work for me.

I didn´t yet test it thoroughly, so no review and no rating so far.

But as I can say, this software can be installed and can be used. It does not look quite mac-like and it seems a little bit dated (december last year), but it may well deserve a four or five star rating.

Maybe I'm too stupid to run this, or maybe it's just not really useable. Either way, I'm not wasting another second of my boring little life on this app. Sorry.
