When I had a Sony-Ericcson cell phone years go, I used this developer's PhoneAgent. He is extremely responsive to my questions and is always willing to accommodating various feature requests.
And, his impeccable technical support continues with SMS sender. It is true that there are other programs that do similar tasks. But, if you appreciate courteous support from a developer, I recommend this program.
Due to limitations in Apple's SDK, no program running on a Mac can make the iPhone send an SMS message without user confirmation on the iPhone.

However, the idea that first, you need to run the app on your iPhone, THEN use this on your desktop, defeats the purpose of NOT using your iPhone.
What I'd REALLY like to see is the ability to dive right into the SMS in and out box without launching any app on the iPhone.
Then we would have what we previously had with BluePhoneElite - which I still miss terribly, and which has forced me to manage all SMS'es on my phone after so many years managing them on my computer.
