OK this worked fine for me on a B&W G3 running OS8.6.
Seeing as their are a number of ppl who have been unable to install this I have placed the 2 extensions and the read-me file on my website. Use this link to get the zip file:

Place the extensions in your extensions folder (drag to the system folder and hit OK for the dialogue box that comes up). Restart. Enjoy.

Performa 6400, upgraded to a G3, running Mac OS 8.6, USB PCI-Card installed. Tried to run a memory bar, msg: The system cannot recognize the memory bar (!). Downloaded mss 1.3.5. Tried to install it -> msg: This program does not run on your computer, see the readme-file for details. But there are no details! Could the problem be solved by an earlier version of mss, 1.2? But I couldn't locate an earlier version on the apple download site! Does Apple care? Is there a patch for this problem?

Yes I have the same problem. It says the installer cannot work...see documentation, yet the dumb documentation doesn't say anything.

I agree. It has happened to me, too. There's no pertinent info in the documentation.

This little download made my Transcend Jet Flash and another USB mini flash storage device work with my older G3 mac, running OS9. I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't work on any of the USB ports. I am now a happier computer. And it was a FREE download. I learned about this download from the manufacturer's website (FAQ).

I couldn't use my Belkin USB Flash Drive on a G3 Mac running OS8.6 - it just kept asking me for driver software. This download fixed the problem instantly. Hence the five stars.
