This is hit or miss. When converting a PDF into a Word document, things didn't go very well. Some text was missing and blocks of images were completely rearranged.

It's a nice effort, but it lacks execution.

As I suspected, PDF Converter appears to be Windows app (2.5.0) ported to Mac (1.0.1). That means we're not likely to ever see direct conversion to Pages, Numbers and Keynote.

Although iWork does a decent job importing Office docs, direct conversion to iWork would minimize the glitches.

I'm confused. Is this OCR? Or just format conversion. It doesn't say OCR.

I just tried to convert a rather simple PDF that was created using pdfLaTeX to a Word document, since sometimes there are customers using that legacy format. Word, I mean :-)

Unfortunately the result was not satisfactory. Page breaks are not preserved, the table of contents is distributed over several pages by column (first the chapter numbers, than the chapter names, then follow several dispersed dots, and the page numbers below them - looks quite scary), line breaks are inserted where none should be, line spacing is a mess, tables are lost entirely. The result is, unfortunately, completely unusable.

Considering that this is Crippleware, not Shareware, and much too expensive for the development stage it seems to be in, I probably won't give it a second try too soon. Maybe in a year or so.

This application excited me and I purchased it immediately, if only to support the author. I tested it on a 32 page pdf containing many different forms of data and it converted into word perfectly. I have suggested to the author that he include conversion to pages, numbers and keynote as many mac users use these apps in preference to microbloat applications. I tried opening a converted document in pages but it came up as a blank. I'm going to give it 4 stars simply because I believe a Mac application should work with Mac specific word processor, spreadsheet and presentation apps i.e. iWork. I wish the developer well and hope that he upgrades as suggested before too long.

It would be really nice though if the registration screen would allow copy-paste. I have tried to type the code in 5 times and each time it says error and then clears what I have typed so I cannot even try to spot the error. Please FIX - this is a serious flaw.
