The Echofon interface was carefully designed to be comfortably left open all day. It stays out of the way when necessary and expands to support all the advanced features you need, when you need them.

Easily attach photos to your tweets with drag-and-drop. You can also attach screen captures, current iTunes song, or current page in Safari. Echofon uses handy indicators to show which tweets have photos, videos, location, conversations, etc.

Use all of your Twitter accounts in Echofon, account switching is easy and you'll see a subtle notification for mentions and messages you receive in background more...

What's New

Version 1.8.4:

The latest version, 1.8.0 works with the new Twitter API but something is causing the drawer to slide out with each new timeline tweet - even when the Echofon window is closed I see the drawer slide and disappear. Bug from using the previous version? Also, can the behavior of clicking a tweet be changed? I don't want the drawer sliding out for that either!

To think that Echofon’s version of sync between Mac an iPhone can compete against Tweet Marker is just silly. I’m not slamming Echofon, I actually want to use it. If it had 100% Tweet Marker support then I, and I suspect a lot of others, would like to come back to Echofon. Surely it wouldn’t be too difficult to enable that?

But with the developers already having churned some turnover by selling this at top dollar at a time when there there wern’t so many Twitter clients around, with there now being so many alternatives around for cheaper and with these Twitter API restrictions around the corner, can the developers be bothered anyomore?

As I said, I’d like to come back.

Been using this for a while because I loved the iPhone version. Loving the SSL feature but now with 10.8 I would love to have support for the Notification Center added, Please!

What good is a sync server if we have TweetMarker?

just another fancy term for TweetMarker from another developer.

Expensive. But it is currently the best. Personally, I use the free version as I don't find the ads to be that disrupting, well not for the sake of $20 anyway.

Update - it’s not the best anymore. This isn’t so much because of the devs, as because of the high standard of competition out there. Having said that, I think its possible that the devs can improve or re-write the software and if that happens sufficiently, I’ll be happy to come back. It’s so important to be upfront and fresh with this kind of software (Tweet Marker anyone?) and I recommend that the devs, if they haven’t done so already, seriously look at Osfora and Tweetlogix as a start.

Seems like a good program but I wish there was a way of changing the background where the Timeline & everything else shows, as the default white background is too glaring for my eyes. If it had the same options like Twitterrific where you could change from a "Light" or "Dark" background, it would be better IMHO.
