Switched to iTrash from AppDelete. I'm satisfied. Try it and you will be too.

Does the job very well!

One of (if not) the best uninstaller I've found around. In complement with iFilex (free – http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/41289/ifilex) which I put in the finder's menubar, I find them all.

When deleting Lion's default app 'DVD Player', it shows 3 files.
DVD Player.app
com.apple.DVDPlayer 9.54.45 AM.help
com.apple.DVDPlayer.help

I had the deselected the option of 'Protection of Default Application of Mac Os X'.

out of this 3 last to were put in the trash, nice.
But it refused to delete the DVD Player app, even after password.
It always said “DVD Player can’t be modified or deleted because it’s required by Mac OS X".

I am sorry but what was the point of deleting the last two files when you are not going to delete the main app file.

PS: I had also checked DVDPlayer wasn't running.

You probably don't know this but there are several applications that cannot be removed (as DVD player.app). Those are part of the OS X core. Removing this applications would render several features of OSX dead. You do not want that.

This has nothing to do with Itrash.

@CloudB, DVD player is only used when you want to watch the DVDs, and I use VLC. So there is no need for that app, it is just bloatware for me.
And tell me if iTrash is not going to delete this Mac default app then why give a option to toggle default app protection on and off.
Simply put iTrash doesn't delete DVD player app.
While AppCleaner does.

Overall the application was good, iTrash could find more related files to delete than appzapper & trashme. I used both before. The only minor problem when I tried in demo version was Application List, When I press cmd+L nothings came out. It suppose to work in demo version right? or this feature had been disabled in demo version?

I'm considering to buy iTrash, at the first I've seen the developer stating the prices 7.5$ but how come when I went through the osxbytes sites, the price becomes 7.50€ which is almost equals to 11$.

I would like to think twice to spend my money, furthermore same kind application in the market (appdelete, cleanapp, trashme) costs around 7$.

If I remember correctly I payed less then $7 for it (one year ago). With today valuta rating it seems to be $10 (according the Times)
Anyhow, iTrash is most definitly the best uninstaller and worth every penny (or should I say euro).

My mistake - It was my system problem - not the download - I rebooted my Mac and re-downloaded iTrash 1.6.1 and all is OK.

I'm trying to add an app called Uninstaller (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/10051/uninstaller) to the list of similar software but MacUpdate somehow seems to disagree as it won't let me add Uninstaller. That's a pity because Uninstaller has an uninstall approach that might be interesting to others searching for an uninstaller.

I'm not linked to the dev of Uninstaller in any way BTW, I even stopped using Uninstaller as I have no need anymore for such an app, I just add this comment to find out why MacUpdate won't let me add a similar app.

Love the ghost option. Nothing can beat this option. Works transparent in the background. I know some other tools offer this option too - but ghost works a lot nicer.

Because of some core changes the auto update does not work for this beta.

You have to download the full .dmg file
Next auto update will be working again.

Up until the very last version of this application I absolutely LOVED it. And thought it simply outstanding. But lately, every time I try to trash an application the following Error Message pops up and it fails to trash:- "An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down". Can the Developer or anyone else explain to me what this means, and what (if anything) I can do to get the application to work as beautifully as earlier versions did. I am running Mac OSX 10.5.8 on an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz iMac, 7,1.

Again... this is not the place to report bugs. TIA

Since when is this NOT the place to report a problem ? Other users do so all the time. I have no idea whether it is a "bug" or not. I am simply relating my current experience. This is a review, comment AND troubleshooting forum. That is precisely what Macupdate is all about. Those are, in fact, the only 3 options that MacUpdate provides. Are you embarrassed to be told on a public forum that a user is having a problem with your software ? Get off your high horse Mr Developer !! As I made abundantly clear, until recently I thought your application was GREAT. But now it has ceased to work. There is nothing further that I could tell you in any email I sent you than what I have already told you. I am getting that same message every time I try to trash an application.

Truly this board can be used for error reports but if everyone reported their errors here we would never have any reviews and just user error logs. Many users follow macupdate simply for reviews, reviews that can benefit everyone. A personal app crash should be reported to the dev directly and then if there is no stage for you to post your error on his website and there are no responses from his emails then I would post my error report here as a last ditch effort of grabbing the dev's attention. Of course we all have our different ideas of what macupdate is and how it's used so your not wrong and neither is the dev, he prefers you report errors elsewhere and has expressed so on other posts before so it's not too out of line. My opinion once again fills these pages (now that's a waste, eh?)

This said .. 0.9.5 introduced a size folder bug. Already fixed for 0.9.6

The 'Indeed' was not related to your final question "now that's a waste, eh?" ;-)
