Awesome program. Far better than VLC (interface, performance, accents in subtitles, etc etc). I've donated my money to the developer, well deserved.

Glad to see the good work kept up on this very valuable Mac app! I am never without MPlayerX on my machine. Solid and reliable. And the icon really isn't that bad, c'mon...

Worse for me is that after upgrading to 1.0.14 the icon for files associated with MPlayerX (e.g. .mkv) was replaced with the generic blank one. Rebuilding the Launch Services database didn't fix it.

Love it! Just love it! Clean, easy, feature rich!
I used to use VLC, but switched when they released the new app, then I used MPlayer OSX Extended which is great - but now this is even nicer!

I started using it in a search for an optimal quick 'n dirty audio player for a series of short mp3 files to be played sequentially. Works well, sounds good. Streamlined interface.

My only complaint is that it is very short on documentation. I just wanted to know if it supports a playlist or not and could find nothing at the app's/developer's website, via the help menu or any manual/help file in the application package. Hence I docked the Overall rating one star and Ease of Use two (poorly documented software is a major pet peeve).

Turns out it will play all files in a folder sequentially -- which works for me, but it would be nice to have that spelled out somewhere.

New icon is a pretty obvious ripoff of the DaisyDisk icon.

Can you give us finer control (i.e., 1.01, 1.02...) ver playback speed at least when we play audio files?

Also, I don't get any sound when I play certain video files on Lion. I tried switching to other audio channels and combinations but nothing helped.

It will be nice to have a modern interface like Winamp...

I love the app, but twice now at the end of an .avi video, the controls will appear out of nowhere for a couple seconds and disappear again. Very distracting, and, to be honest, a deal breaker, so back to VLC. Anyone know how to keep this from happening?

Any recent mac should have a TOSLINK adapter, which is basically an SPDIF connector. It's a dual purpose connector so it supports analog connectors for things like headphones, but it also has an internal fiber out as well.

Ditch the USB audio if possible. The Mini TOSLINK adapters can be had for $2 or $3 bucks ;)

Just go to preferences and the very first option you see says "Keep window on top" - select the drop down menu and change the setting to never. That should do the trick!
