Zfone is a new secure VoIP phone software product which lets you make secure encrypted phone calls over the Internet. Zfone is not itself a VoIP client, but lets you make secure calls with your existing VoIP client, by filtering, encrypting and decrypting all your VoIP media packets as they pass in and out of your computer. You can use a variety of different software VoIP clients to make a VoIP call. It's as if Zfone were a "bump on the wire", sitting between the VoIP client and the Internet. Think of it as a software bump-on-the-wire, or a bump in the protocol stack.
Zfone is no longer available as download directly from the developer. For your reference the Jitsi softphone has the Zfone SDK incorporated into their softphone.
Read this, and you will realize why this software is important to your privacy and freedom:

From the site that "More Information" leads to, the available downloads date from 2009-03-22. Is this just a late arrival, or is there a new version that just hasn't quite been made available?
It is great to see a continuation of the late PGPfone feature of secure A/V communications! Technology like this should be STANDARD in all VoIP apps and on iPhone...
Zimmerman told me by email that an iPhone app "was in the works," but that was quite a while ago. I don't know whether work on it has stopped, or whether he's run into trouble with either Apple or perhaps the NSA?
Too bad there's still no iOS version... Development seems to be slow... Seems like there are some server download problems recently:
