SubstrateMac is based on the original concept "Substrate Watercolors" by J. Tarbell at Complexification.net.

This is beautiful!

Especially when you turn up the density. Emergent complexity from simple rules…

Would like to see a Config option for crack/bg/sand colors/color ranges.

The color palette of the original was taken from a Jackson Pollack painting, titled Shimmering Substance.

Well, a good place to take a color palette from! I looked at some of the other algorithms at http://www.complexification.net/ and some are quite astonishing.
