I have a CD by a band that released an EP and a following CD with the same song on it. Many artists due this. Pollux, when renaming the songs on this CD, picked out the two that also appeared on the EP and renamed them with the album title and artwork from the EP.
Now the songs on both albums, were of different lengths. Pollux states that each song has a unique fingerprint and it would "never be wrong" when renaming songs...well, pollux took two songs that were 4:50 seconds in length (on the CD) and renamed them with the album name and cover art for the song that was just 4:35 on the EP...
More or less, this program doesn't get it right. I want a program that I can trust all 30,000+ of my songs to, and this definitely isn't the one.
One other complain I have so far is that when re-titling songs, it won't fix capitalizations/misspellings/etc.
On the upside, it DID import the lyrics for the songs I attempted to run through it...something that SongGenie and CoverScount by Equinix could never seem to get right.
It is also nice that if I am going to fix up my library, I only need one program (vs coverscout and songgenie, which require the purchase of two separate programs, and their usage requires the user to flip back and forth between them to get the job done...total waste of time IMO)
This program has a long way to go before it is truly effective.

Also, Pollux tends to tag many songs as being from the "greatest hits" collection of a given artist even if I know this to be incorrect. Technically of course it's true -- the song might ALSO be on the GH collection, but my suggestion would be for Pollux to allow for multiple possibilities so that users could pick which album (or version) the song comes from.
It also occasionally tags a song as being from a live album when it wasn't. Again, understandable, but I want the ability to easily correct it without exiting the program. I'm aware I can correct the tag by hand later, but it's better to do it right when the error is noticed, n'est pas?
Perhaps this is being nit-picky for a free app, but I think Pollux has a lot of potential to be even better than it is, so I offer these comments in that spirit.

I have experienced both problems as well. When tagging any given song, it does seem to simply default to a "Greatest Hits" version of the song, if one is available, without giving the ability to select alternatives.
The fact that there is no accept/reject button to make changes final and it just goes ahead and re-tags everything even when it happens to be totally wrong, is quite a pain.
While both of these issues are annoying, they're also relatively minor and fixable and I'm guessing they will be in some near-term future release. Because other than this, pollux does a really good job of finding the missing data and it's orders of magnitude faster than IEatBrains for the same purpose.
Thanks to the dev for creating this very cool app and here's hoping the two main problems (for me and apparently at least one other person), will be addressed at some not-too-distant date.
Thanks again!

The version and licensing has changed completely with this app.
It is no longer free (there is a free limited trial version).

"Over the last couple of days, Pollux has gotten an unanticipated high volume of traffic and downloads. We're very happy for the huge interest and success our app has received, but for the very same reason, the third-party services Pollux uses such as MusicDNS and Lyricwiki are no longer able to support Pollux for free. Thus, our current version (1.1.9) is broken.
As we are just two college students not looking for any profit, we are unable to pay for the services Pollux depends on even with the very generous donations we have received. We're looking to resolve this issue and continue to bring you Pollux at the lowest cost we can manage. We apologize for Pollux not working until we can sort out this matter, and we thank you for your interest and patience.
Chetan and Shashwat"
