Atlantis is a client specifically designed to aid in playing text-based multiuser games. It is designed from the ground up entirely in Cocoa, and integrates with system services - such as the Mac OS X spellchecker - as much as possible. In addition to the expected feature-set of every MU* client - connect to a game, provide highlighting, log output and so on - Atlantis has a number of fairly advanced features:
  • 'Spawn' support.
  • Shared world settings.
  • Growl support
  • Versatile windowing
  • HTML logfiles
  • User defined hotkeys
  • User defined aliases
  • Advanced event more...

What's New

  • This has one significant bugfix, and as such will still work on Mac OS X 10.3 and 10.4.
  • GENERAL: There was a second string input lockup bug, where a server that sent Latin1-encoded text when UTF8 had been negotiated would cause the input stream to lock up. Now, if a data blob is unparseable, Atlantis will try to use a previous encoding to generate a string. more...

Just a comment... Glad to see Atlantis is steadily (albeit slowly) moving forward. Even in beta, it's got the others beat. I will be happy to pay for it when it gets out of beta. Thanks to the developer for the hard work and care in design.

Best MU* client I've been able to find on any platform! For the longest time it was difficult to find even a passable GUI MU* client for OS X, and you had to either settle for TinyFugue (command line) or one of the many unfinished or soon-to-be-broken clients. There's been Savitar for a long time, but I always found it a bit lacking in features, especially for shareware. I used Trebuchet for the longest time, but it's very, very not Mac-native, and prone to weird glitches from my experience.

Finally, I found Atlantis in early development, and haven't looked back since! It's truly full-featured (tabs, aliases, multiple characters, keepalives, variables, scripting, etc) clean and Maclike, and the developer is very nice and helpful from my experience, as is the community on Riverdark's forums. Any time issues arise (usually from OS X 10.x updates screwing with Perl) there's an alpha release on the forums quite quickly, and shortly after that the main trunk will be fixed.

If you want a clean, easy to use, elegant MU* client, at the very least give this one a try.
